We all know that homegrown tomatoes are the most delicious, but they are not always the prettiest. In honor of our 20th annual Farmers’ Festival we’re paying tribute this favorite summer fruit with a somewhat wacky competition: the Ugly Tomato Contest!
Dear North Market Shopper

We are excited to announce the fall schedule for the North Market School of Cooking and Chef Series classes. Classes are held in the Dispatch Kitchen on the second floor of the North Market. Classes are $35 per person unless otherwise noted.

We have appointments available every 15 minutes with a break for lunch from 11:45 – 1:15PM. If you would like to give blood please email

“At a time where prices are high and incomes are low, most of us have become champion comparison shoppers. We navigate not only the streets of the city but the aisles of the grocery store. Unfortunately for many, the first thing to go is high quality produce. Last year I began my adventure into urban gardening. From window containers, a 3 foot plot of land, to kid’s swimming pool: growing your own produce is simple and cheap when you know how to do it. I want to help others save money while not having to sacrifice eating high quality food. Good food shouldn’t just be for those who can afford it.
